The SA Booksellers Association would like to thank our members for their longterm support and commitment to the bookselling trade in South Africa. The Executive and the office administrator works hard to ensure that your membership fees are put to good use and to ensure that all our members experience the benefit of being a member of the SA Booksellers Association.   • Reduced advertising rates in Bookmark and on the SABooksellers website for members
  • Member information available on SABooksellers website which has seen a consistent increase in the number of visitors. Please use your email address and your SA Booksellers membership number to check your company details and fill out your profile as completely as possible.

Some highlights of 2015

  • Submitted a response to the Copyright Amendment Bill
  • Submitted a response to the One Book Policy to the DBE
  • Invited members to participate in a World Book Day event “Book Donation Drive”
  • Southern Region Breakfast held in July, with guest speaker Prof. Tim Noakes
  • Annual Conference held in August – engaging discussions and guest speakers
  • Executive Members had a strategic workshop to look at threats, opportunities, key priority areas affecting members and the book industry. The outcome of this session will be communicated to members accordingly.

World Book Day

The SA Booksellers Association last year piloted a very successful WBD campaign and this year we would like to grow the initiative. We will be offering the official WBD books as per the UK campaign for R25 per book in SA Bookseller member stores nationwide.
Members are please to get in touch with the SA Booksellers office in order to be involved. Contact Samantha@ sabooksellers.com All books that are bought for this campaign should be donated to the WBD beneficiary, Nal’ibali. Donation bins will be provided for this purpose.
